Study Skills events

A day of motivation and preparation for the demands of Year 11. Students will take part in a variety of workshops such as:

  • Learning how to reduce and handle stress at exam times and how to keep their composure under pressure
  • Scope out in detail exactly how many potential ‘revision slots’ there are before the exams start
  • Practising success visualisation and goal setting
  • Become familiar with the 'growth mindset': that it's effort, not IQ, that matters
  • Practising effective methods of reading, summarising & note taking
  • Learning self & time management techniques for exam preparation
  • Prepare for sitting their exams (mind and body, dealing with stress and anxiety, diet, exercise, sleep)
