Geography Field Trip
4 July 2016
The geography field trip to Formby and then Southport was a great success, partly due to the great weather, but mostly down to the enthusiasm and hard work of the students involved. Students used table tennis balls to simulate off shore drift and clinometers to collect data to enable them to create profiles of the Formby dunes. The day enabled students to appreciate the difference between the two beaches of Formby and Souhport and to formulate their own hypotheses as to why the different land formations had occurred.
